Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks a Substation Engineer 2 to join a project team and lead electrical design and project management for high voltage substations. You will contribute to concept development, planning, and execution while meeting client requirements and SL formats.

The role emphasizes teamwork, problem solving with modern tools including AI, and potential travel to client sites. A BS in Electrical/Mechanical/Aerospace/Chemical engineering is preferred, with 1+ year in power/utility design and

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in an engineering field with coursework in coding, 3D modeling/design, and familiarity with agentic AI.
Knowledge of producing technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and 3D visualization.
1+ year of experience in the power or electric utility industry.
Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects within budget and schedule.
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Take active role in project conceptualization, planning, and execution.
Support challenging assignments including investigating, trouble-shooting, and solving electrical engineering issues.
Prepare reports that present technical and project information to meet client requirements and S& L formats.
Develop your career via peer-learning through Communities of Practice at S&L.
May travel to client sites as needed.
