Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Substation Engineer Consultant to lead multidisciplinary teams on high voltage substation projects, from design through commissioning. You will manage engineers, designers, estimators, controls and scheduling professionals, coordinate with civil/structural teams, and ensure quality, schedule and budget targets are met.

The role supports hybrid work with three days in the office and two remote days, relocation consideration may be offered, and requires 10+ years in

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering is required.
• Experience managing HV transmission/substation or energy projects.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEC, IEEE and ANSI.
• 10+ years in design engineering and/or management of HV projects.
• Experience with EPC, Owners Engineer or Joint Ventures is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead project teams of engineers, designers, estimators, controls and scheduling professionals.
• Direct coordination of detailed design phases for electrical engineering work.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, and transmission teams.
• Ensure projects meet quality, schedule, and budget targets.
• Identify scope changes and coordinate client approvals.
• Prepare reports and studies in clear, client-friendly formats.
• Review others' work, including calculations, drawings, and specs.
• Communicate with clients to provide project and account support.
• Support business development with existing and potential clients.
• Develop and mentor team members.
