Job summary
Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Substation Engineer to join our team, leveraging your background in engineering to design high and extra-high voltage substations and transmission systems. You will contribute to power transmission designs and help prepare specifications for major equipment and installation services.
The role supports a hybrid work model with three days in the office and two days remote, with potential relocation assistance depending on location.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Chemical Engineering (prefer ABET‑accredited).
- Coursework includes coding, 3D modeling/design, and experience with agentic AI.
- Understanding of practical application of electrical engineering and technology in project design.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Work on project teams with engineers designing new high voltage and extra-high voltage substations and transmission systems.
- Assist in power transmission design and prep of specifications for major equipment and installation services.
- Be prepared to travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to site locations for construction coordination and field verification.
