Job summary

Amedisys, part of the Optum family, is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our home health team. Under a licensed PT, you’ll implement individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, and independence in patients' homes.

You’ll collaborate with patients, caregivers, and the care team, document progress, and help promote safety and wellness. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, 401k contributions, and recognition programs.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited physical therapy assistant program per CAPTE.
• Current license to practice as a PTA in the assigned state.
• Current CPR certification.
• 1+ years of PTA experience in home health or equivalent.
• Foreign/less than 1 year experience requires regional leadership approval and mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Provide PT services under supervision and per plan of care.
• Observe and report patient responses to treatment to the PT and staff.
• Document supervisory activities in the medical record.
• Promote wellness, preventive care, and resources for future needs.
• Coordinate follow-up care with the agency and other care providers.
