Job summary

Baystate Health seeks an experienced unit/administrative coordinator at Baystate Medical Center to support nurse managers and charge nurses. The role focuses on patient information processing, documentation management, and ensuring smooth unit operations.

The incumbent will liaise with staff, organize records, and facilitate admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed. Key duties include bedside handoffs, bed tracking, and coordinating with departments for timely tests and discharge

Qualifications

• GED or HiSET required.
• 3 years clerical and customer service in healthcare setting with at least one year as Level II OA at BMC.
• Basic Life Support certification (American Heart Association) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Bed management and patient throughput coordination with inpatient teams.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers; communicate with departments to expedite care.
• Maintain patient charts, organize records, and ensure documentation is complete.
• Serve as unit greeter and liaison for hospital staff and visitors.
• Prepare staffing assignments and coordinate coverage for shifts.
• Operate unit logs and inventory, ensuring supplies are stocked.
