Baystate Health in Palmer, MA seeks an experienced unit coordinator/OA monitor technologist to support nurse managers and charge nurses. You will manage patient flow, bed assignments, admissions and discharges while ensuring accurate documentation and timely communication across care teams.

The role requires acute care experience, dysrhythmia training, and proficiency with hospital information systems. You will be a hospital operator coordinating staff, patient transport, and post-discharge

Qualifications

• 3 years of acute care experience with at least one year as Level II OA MT at BH.
• Must complete a dysrhythmia course within 6 weeks of hire.
• GED or HiSET is required.

Responsabilités

• Bed management: track, prioritize and assign beds; coordinate admissions, discharges and transfers.
• Proficient use of computer applications daily (Word, OA Gold, SMS, CIS, Premise, BMD, PCM Auditor, People Soft, Staples/Koronos).
• Lead unit projects including payroll, scheduling, and committee participation.
• Provide shift handoffs with pending discharges and admissions; coordinate tests and bed status.
• Support Hospitalists during rounds; arrange coverage for shifts and communicate staffing.
• Maintain patient charts, prepare records for transfer/discharge, and manage Medicare forms.
• Assist with hospital communications and transport coordination; liaise with NEOPO paperwork.
• Inventory, restock, and charge supplies; manage unit audit tools.
• Know emergency procedures and access emergency equipment; coordinate response.
• Monitor EKG strips and ensure proper placement of monitoring equipment.
