Job summary

Baystate Health seeks an experienced unit clerk to support patient information processing, documentation, and unit operations. You will coordinate bed management, admissions, and throughput, acting as a receptionist and liaison for clinical staff.

The role requires proficiency with multiple health IT systems, strong organization, and the ability to relay information accurately to nurses, physicians, and ancillary departments. On-site position within the Baystate Medical Center unit.

Qualifications

• Previous clerical and customer service experience
• Healthcare setting experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Bed management and admissions coordination with ED/CM RN; track ADTs and bed status.
• Enter discharge data in OA Gold; monitor discharge times and documents.
• Coordinate communications between clinical staff and departments; relay messages and information.
• Maintain patient charts, discharge/admission logs, and records; prepare charts for transfers.
• Assist staffing and scheduling; organize unit time schedules and coverage.
