Job summary

Honeywell is seeking a Field Service Engineer I – Process Controls to deliver on-site and remote support for industrial process control systems. You will troubleshoot, install, calibrate, and commission instrumentation and control equipment at customer sites, traveling as needed and collaborating with experienced engineers.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in field service, instrumentation, electrical, automation, process controls, or related technical field.
• Basic knowledge of process instrumentation and control systems (pressure, temperature, flow, level, analytical instruments, valves).
• Experience troubleshooting electrical, instrumentation, automation, or control system equipment.
• Familiarity with PLC, DCS, HMI, or SCADA systems.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, loop drawings, and technical documentation.
• Experience or exposure to commissioning, startup, calibration, loop checks, preventive maintenance, or functional testing.
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively to customer sites.
• Strong commitment to safety and following safety procedures.
• Certifications such as ISA, NCCER, networking, cybersecurity are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site and remote technical support for installation, startup, commissioning, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of process control and instrumentation systems.
• Troubleshoot PLC, DCS, HMI, SCADA, instrumentation, valves, transmitters.
• Perform loop checks and functional testing to ensure proper operation of control systems.
• Read and interpret P&IDs, schematics, loop drawings, instrument indexes.
• Support installation, configuration, replacement, and maintenance of process instrumentation hardware.
• Collaborate with customers and project teams to resolve technical issues.
• Assist startup and commissioning activities at customer sites.
• Document service activities and findings in service reports.
• Follow safety requirements in industrial environments.
• Develop technical knowledge through hands-on field experience and mentoring.
