Job summary

Honeywell is seeking a Field Service Engineer I – Process Controls to provide on-site and remote technical support for installation, startup, and maintenance of process control systems at customer sites across the region. You will troubleshoot PLC/DCS/HMI/SCADA, read P&IDs, and work with Honeywell engineers to resolve issues, with substantial travel from Midland, TX.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of field service, instrumentation, electrical, automation, process controls, or related technical field.
• Basic knowledge of process instrumentation and control systems including pressure, temperature, flow, level, analytical instruments, and valves.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical, instrumentation, automation, or control system equipment.
• Familiarity with PLC, DCS, HMI, or SCADA systems and basic control concepts.
• Ability to read P&IDs, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, loop drawings, and technical documentation.
• Experience or exposure to commissioning, startup, calibration, loop checks, preventive maintenance, or functional testing.
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively to customer sites and work in industrial environments.
• Strong commitment to safety and ability to follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site and remote technical support for installation, startup, commissioning, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of process control and instrumentation systems.
• Troubleshoot PLC, DCS, HMI, SCADA, instrumentation, control valves, transmitters, and related process control equipment.
• Perform loop checks, point-to-point verification, functional testing, calibration, and system diagnostics.
• Read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, loop drawings, wiring diagrams, instrument indexes, and control documentation.
• Support installation, configuration, replacement, and maintenance of process instrumentation and control system hardware.
• Collaborate with customers, project managers, engineers, and technicians to identify and resolve technical issues.
• Assist with startup and commissioning activities at customer sites and provide technical support throughout service assignments.
• Document service activities, troubleshooting findings, equipment conditions, and recommendations in service reports.
• Follow Honeywell and customer safety requirements in industrial and field environments.
