Job summary
Honeywell is seeking a Field Service Engineer I – Process Controls to provide on-site and remote technical support for process control systems. The role reports to the Field Service Manager and operates from Midland, TX with substantial travel to customer sites.
You will troubleshoot PLC/DCS/HMI/SCADA, perform commissioning and calibration, and ensure safe, reliable operation of instrumentation and control systems in industrial environments. Travel is extensive.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years in field service or related technical field.
- Familiarity with PLC, DCS, HMI, or SCADA systems and basic control concepts.
- Ability to read P&IDs and electrical schematics.
- Willingness to travel extensively to customer sites.
Responsibilities
- Provide on-site and remote support for installation, startup, commissioning, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of process control systems.
- Troubleshoot PLC, DCS, HMI, SCADA, instrumentation, valves, transmitters, and related equipment.
- Perform loop checks and system diagnostics to ensure proper operation of control systems.
- Read P&IDs, schematics, wiring diagrams, and control documentation.
- Document service activities and recommendations in reports.
- Follow safety requirements in industrial environments.
