Job summary

Honeywell is seeking a Field Service Engineer I – Process Controls to provide on-site and remote technical support, troubleshoot, commission, and maintain process control and instrumentation systems in industrial environments.

You will work with customers and experienced Honeywell engineers, reporting to the Field Service Manager from our Midland, TX location with a field-based schedule and significant travel.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of field service, instrumentation, automation, or related technical work.
• Knowledge of process instrumentation and control systems.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical, automation, or control equipment.
• Familiarity with PLC/DCS/HMI/SCADA systems.
• Ability to read P&IDs and electrical schematics.
• Willingness to travel extensively and work in industrial environments.
• Commitment to safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site and remote technical support for installation, startup, commissioning, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of process control systems.
• Assist with troubleshooting PLC, DCS, HMI, SCADA, instrumentation, valves, transmitters, and related equipment.
• Perform loop checks, functional testing, calibration, and diagnostics to ensure proper operation.
• Read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, loop drawings, and control documentation.
• Support installation, configuration, replacement, and maintenance of process instrumentation and control hardware.
• Collaborate with customers, project teams, and engineers to resolve technical issues.
• Document service activities and recommendations in service reports.
• Follow safety requirements in industrial environments.
