Job summary

Honeywell International, Inc. seeks a Field Service Engineer I – Process Controls to deliver on-site and remote support for process control systems across customer sites. You will troubleshoot, calibrate, and commission instrumentation and control hardware, while collaborating with project teams and customers in industrial environments.

You will travel to customer sites, perform diagnostics, and ensure safety procedures are followed. A technical degree and hands-on field experience are valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of field service, instrumentation, electrical, automation, process controls, or related technical field.
• Basic knowledge of process instrumentation and control systems, including pressure, temperature, flow, level, analytical instruments, and control valves.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical, instrumentation, automation, or control system equipment.
• Familiarity with PLC, DCS, HMI, or SCADA systems and basic control system concepts.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, loop drawings, and technical documentation.
• Experience or exposure to commissioning, startup, calibration, loop checks, preventive maintenance, or functional testing.
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively to customer sites and work in industrial environments.
• Strong commitment to safety and following safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site and remote technical support for installation, startup, commissioning, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of process control systems.
• Assist with troubleshooting PLC, DCS, HMI, SCADA, instrumentation, control valves, transmitters, and related equipment.
• Perform loop checks, verification, functional testing, calibration, and diagnostics for proper operation.
• Read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, loop drawings, and control documentation.
• Support installation, configuration, replacement, and maintenance of process instrumentation and control hardware.
• Collaborate with customers, project managers, engineers, and technicians to resolve technical issues.
• Assist with startup and commissioning activities and provide ongoing technical support.
• Document service activities, findings, equipment conditions, and recommendations in reports.
