Job summary

Carter Lumber is seeking an Outside Sales Representative in Michigan to build and maintain relationships with local contractors, builders, and remodelers. You will sell our full line of building materials and installed services, manage each job and its relationship from start to finish, and visit job sites as needed.

Salary includes commissions; the sky’s the limit. You should have sales experience, be able to read blueprints, prepare material takeoffs, and work with MS Office.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales is required.
• Knowledge of home building basics.
• Create material estimates/quotes and special orders.
• Open new accounts monthly or quarterly.
• Learn to read blueprints and provide material take-offs.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
• Attend HBA/builder/company functions as required.

Responsibilities

• Sell our full line of building materials and installed services to local contractors, builders and remodelers.
• Develop and maintain relationships with customers; manage the job and relationship after sale.
• Visit job sites as needed and maintain up-to-date information on customer product use and trends.
• Maintain schedules and respond to issues to ensure project success.
