Job summary

Carter Lumber Company is hiring an Outside Sales Representative to build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, builders and remodelers, while selling our full line of building materials and installed services.

You will visit job sites, manage ongoing projects, and track product usage trends to drive repeat business. Salary includes commission with uncapped earning potential, reflecting performance and market demand.

Qualifications

• Experience in building material sales.
• Knowledge of home building basics.
• Create material estimates/quotes and special orders.
• Open new accounts on a monthly/quarterly basis.
• Able to read blueprints and provide material take off lists.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Find and close sales of our full line of building materials and installed services with local contractors, builders, and remodelers.
• Manage each sold job and relationship after closing.
• Visit job sites as needed; maintain schedules and respond to issues.
• Collect and update information on customers’ product use and trends; keep CRM records current.
• Attend HBA/builder/company functions as required.
