Job summary

Carter Lumber is seeking an Outside Sales Representative in Michigan to cultivate relationships with local contractors and remodelers, selling our full line of building materials and installed services. You will visit job sites and manage quotes and accounts with strong communication.

This role offers commission-based earnings with no cap, and growth opportunities within a family-owned company that values honesty, hard work, and people.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales within building materials or construction sectors.
• Knowledge of home building basics and construction terminology.
• Ability to create material estimates/quotes and special orders.
• Open new accounts on a monthly/quarterly basis.
• Learn to read blueprints and provide material take-off lists.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Sell our full line of building materials and installed services to local contractors, builders and remodelers.
• Develop and maintain relationships with customers; manage existing accounts post-sale.
• Visit job sites as needed and coordinate with yard and dispatch teams to ensure on-time delivery.
