Job summary

Osmose Utilities Services is seeking Field Data Technicians for outdoor work collecting detailed data on electric utility and telecom facilities. The role involves hiking between poles to capture measurements supporting design projects, with training provided.

Overnight travel 1–2 weeks at a time is common, with weekends at home and occasional longer assignments. Ideal candidates are comfortable outdoors, able to lift 15–20 lbs, and possess basic GPS/map skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical background preferred.
• Basic knowledge of telecommunications and/or electrical distribution systems is a plus.
• Willing to travel overnight 1–2 weeks at a time.
• Physically able to lift 15–20 lbs and hike in varied weather.
• Proficient reading GPS maps and following procedures.

Responsibilities

• Collect field data in outdoor environments for fiber optic projects.
• Submit organized data, maps, notes and images for each project.
• Operate and maintain field equipment (tablet, camera, measuring tools, PPE).
• Represent Osmose professionally in the field.
• Communicate daily with the project management team.
• Work safely with minimal supervision.
