Job summary

Osmose Utilities Services, Inc. is seeking Field Data Technicians to collect detailed technical information about electric utility and fiber telecom facilities.

This outdoor role requires hiking between utility poles to capture data that supports outside plant engineering and fiber-optic construction projects. The position involves routine overnight travel, typically 1–2 weeks at a time away from home, with weekends at home and occasional longer assignments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical background preferred.
• Basic knowledge of telecommunications and/or electrical distribution systems is a plus.
• Ability to hike outdoors and lift 15–20 lbs regularly.
• Proficiency with computers and reading GPS maps.

Responsibilities

• Work outdoors to collect field data supporting fiber optic and utility projects.
• Submit organized data including maps, notes and images.
• Operate and maintain tablet, camera, measuring tools, and PPE.
• Act as a professional representative of Osmose in the field.
• Communicate daily with the project management team.
• Work safely with minimal supervision.
