Job summary

Osmose Utilities Services, Inc. is seeking Field Data Technicians to collect data on outdoor utility facilities. The role involves hiking between poles to capture information for outside plant projects. Training is provided; overnight travel 1–2 weeks is typical, with weekends at home and potential longer stays.

You’ll operate tablets and measuring tools, submit detailed project data, and work safely in all weather conditions while representing Osmose with professionalism.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical background preferred.
• Basic knowledge of telecommunications and/or electrical distribution systems a plus.
• Comfort with outdoor, physically demanding work and lifting 15–20 lbs.
• Ability to travel overnight and read GPS maps; strong attention to detail.
• Excellent written and oral communication; professional appearance.

Responsibilities

• Collect field data in outdoor environments for fiber optic facilities.
• Submit organized data including maps, notes, and digital images.
• Operate and maintain tablets, cameras, measuring tools, and PPE.
• Represent Osmose professionally to customers in the field.
• Communicate daily with project management and follow safety protocols.
• Work independently with minimal supervision in varied conditions.
