Job summary

Osmose Utilities Services is seeking Field Data Technicians to collect detailed data on electric utility and telecommunication facilities. The role is outdoors, involves hiking between spans, and supports outside plant engineering and fiber-optic projects.

The position requires routine overnight travel 1–2 weeks at a time, with weekends at home and potential longer assignments. Training is provided by Osmose to perform all duties safely.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical background preferred.
• Basic knowledge of telecommunications and/or electrical distribution systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of pole design including NESC requirements and general safety practices is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work in an outdoor environment to collect field data that supports the engineering and design of fiber optic cable facilities.
• Submit organized, detailed data for each project that could include maps, field notes and digital images.
• Operate and maintain equipment that would include tablet computer, digital camera, measuring tools and Personal Protective Equipment.
• Work professionally in the field as a representative of Osmose and our customers.
• Communicate effectively and on a daily basis with the project management team.
• Work safely and independent of supervision.
