Job summary

Osmose Utilities Services is seeking Field Data Technicians to collect detailed data on outdoor utility facilities. The role involves hiking between utility spans to capture measurements, photos, and notes that support fiber optic construction projects.

The position requires routine overnight travel (1–2 weeks), with weekends at home and possible longer stays. Training will be provided, and a strong emphasis on safety and accuracy is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic knowledge of telecommunications or electrical distribution is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret GPS maps and use basic computing tools.
• Willingness to travel overnight 1–2 weeks at a time and work outdoors in all weathers.

Responsibilities

• Collect field data outdoors to support engineering and design of fiber optic facilities.
• Submit organized data including maps, notes, and photos for each project.
• Operate and maintain equipment such as tablet, camera, measuring tools, and PPE.
• Represent Osmose professionally to customers and project teams.
• Communicate daily with project management and work safely with minimal supervision.
