Job summary

Osmose Utilities Services is seeking Field Data Technicians to collect detailed technical data on electric and telecom facilities. This outdoor role involves hiking between spans, data capture for outside plant engineering and fiber projects.

Training provided; travel 1–2 weeks, weekends at home with longer stays possible. The position requires physical fitness, reliable transportation, and the ability to follow safety protocols in a fast-paced field environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical background preferred.
• Basic knowledge of telecommunications and/or electrical distribution systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of pole design including NESC requirements and general safety practices is a plus.
• Enjoy outdoor work in all weather and actively participate in physically demanding work lifting 15–20 lbs.
• Basic proficiency with computers including the ability to read, interpret and follow GPS maps.
• Ability to follow process specifications and guidelines in a high-quality, fast-paced environment.
• Ability to travel and work outside in variable terrain and weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Work in outdoor environments to collect field data for fiber optic facilities.
• Submit organized data for each project including maps, field notes, and images.
• Operate and maintain equipment such as tablet, camera, measuring tools, and PPE.
• Represent Osmose professionally in the field to clients.
• Communicate daily with the project management team.
• Work safely with minimal supervision.
