Job summary

National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to grow membership through face-to-face interactions with small business owners in your local market. You will lead prospecting, area management, and a results-driven sales process to enroll new members and advance NFIB’s advocacy mission.

No mandatory industry background is required; strong self-motivation, coaching, and communication skills are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Experience in B2B sales is beneficial but not required.
• Candidates from sales, fundraising, community outreach, recruiting, education, military leadership, business ownership, and other customer-facing backgrounds are welcome.
• Strong communicators who build trust quickly and work independently are valued.

Responsibilities

• Prospect and engage small business owners in the local area.
• Build quick rapport through face-to-face interactions.
• Present NFIB's advocacy mission and membership benefits; identify needs and propose solutions.
• Overcome objections and enroll new members; achieve sales goals through prospecting and closing.
• Represent NFIB as a trusted advocate for small businesses.
