Qualifications

• Up to eighteen months of education beyond high school or equivalent.
• Over three months through one year of related experience; public service experience; effective oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic Microsoft Office applications.
• Physical ability to lift collection and shelving materials up to 25 pounds, lift up to 10 pounds repeatedly, push a book cart up to 150 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Supervise circulation and research assistance services in Bracken Library during evening and weekend hours.
• Provide service at the Bracken Library Information Desk; check out and accept returns; assist with print/electronic resources and policies.
• Maintain hold shelf, issue library cards, create brief records, and prepare items for binding/receiving.
• Train and monitor student assistants in area work assignments and duties.
• Assist with overdue processes, notifications, and replacement costs.
• Conduct searches for missing materials; update status in system and assist other units.
• Close and secure Bracken Library on Friday and Saturday evenings; service copiers, microform readers/printers, and computers; monitor security.
• Assist with Interlibrary Loan tasks and document delivery requests.
• Perform other related duties and maintain regular attendance.
