Ball State University Libraries is seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative team member to join our dedicated Access Services unit as a User Services Assistant. This position assists Ball State students, faculty and staff, and community library users. The User Services Assistant answers research-related questions, checks out materials, and is responsible for assisting in the closing of Bracken Library on Friday and Saturday evenings. Successful candidates will have customer service experience and enjoy contributing to student academic success. The User Services Assistant will work independently and collaboratively with colleagues to provide excellent customer services and to promote the services and collections of the University Libraries.
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the United States without employer sponsorship.
Position Function: Provide service to users at the Bracken Library Information Desk; perform circulation duties and clerical tasks; close and secure Bracken Library on Friday and Saturday evenings; train and monitor student assistants in the performance of area work assignments and job duties; support a collaborative work environment and service culture to advance the strategic direction of the University Libraries.
