Job summary

City Year is seeking an entry-level Student Success Coach and Mentor to support students across elementary to high school with academic and behavioral development. AmeriCorps members will engage in 1:1 and small-group coaching, track progress, and partner with teachers to enhance classroom instruction and student outcomes.

The role includes training at the start of the year and opportunities to participate in extended day and virtual programs, with a focus on creating a safe, engaging learning

Qualifications

• Experience in coaching and mentoring not required; training provided.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Commitment to supporting students in academic and social development.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Support literacy and math skill development with varied activities.
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor student progress and data.
• Help create a positive, engaging classroom environment.
• Assist with extended day and after-school programs as needed.
