Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members serve as student success coaches and mentors in elementary to high school settings, guiding academic progress, attendance, and positive behavior. You will collaborate with teachers to deliver targeted support inside and outside the classroom.

You will receive initial training and ongoing support as you work with students and school staff to foster a safe, engaging learning environment while contributing to whole-school initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching and mentoring students in school settings.
• Ability to support academic and interpersonal development.
• Strong communication and collaboration with teachers.

Responsibilities

• Coaching and mentoring students 1:1 or in small groups.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and support completion of assignments.
• Create and implement behavior management strategies.
• Collaborate with teachers to collect and analyze student data.
• Support extended day and after-school programs and student clubs.
