Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps is seeking an entry-level Student Success Coach and Mentor to support students across grade levels. You will coach, mentor, and help improve academics, attendance, and school behaviors, with training provided at year start.

You will partner with teachers, plan and monitor progress, and participate in whole-class instruction and after-school activities, contributing to a safe, engaging learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching and mentoring students is beneficial.
• Willingness to learn; training provided at the start of the year.
• Eligibility to serve in AmeriCorps and be ready to begin by July/August 2025.

Responsibilities

• Assist with academic coaching and interpersonal development for students: 1:1 and small groups.
• Develop literacy and math activities tailored to each student level; encourage completion of assignments.
• Create and implement behavior management strategies and foster positive classroom environments.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to collect and monitor student progress in City Year’s data system.
• Support and lead program activities to engage students and families beyond core instruction.
