Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps Member is an entry-level, paid, full-time role focused on coaching and mentoring students. You’ll support academic success, attendance, and positive behaviors, planning individual progress and collaborating with teachers on in-class instruction and group activities.

You will receive 2–4 weeks of training at the start of the year and work with partner teachers and school staff to monitor and enhance student progress.

Qualifications

• Experience in all these tasks is not necessary; training will be provided for 2-4 weeks at the beginning of the year.
• Be able to collaborate with teachers and school staff throughout the program.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups to support academic success.
• Develop literacy and math skills with varied activities by student level.
• Create and implement behavior management strategies.
• Foster interpersonal skills through daily routines and structured reflection.
