Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking an Ambulatory Service Representative for the Endoscopy Suite on a 20-hour/week, day-shift schedule, based at Southborough. The role focuses on front-desk patient interactions, appointment coordination, and insurance/financial counseling as needed.

Responsibilities include verifying demographics, collecting co-pays, and guiding patients through pre-authorization and scheduling processes with clinicians. Strong communication and accuracy are essential.

Qualifications

• 3 years of related experience, or an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
• Ability to use specialized applications software and computer systems.
• Multifunctional and able to work under stressful situations.
• Excellent communication and human relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and schedule/coordinate appointments.
• Verify patient demographics and insurance information.
• Collect co-payments and manage consent documentation.
• Direct calls and route to providers as needed.
• Ensure accuracy of records and assist with billing discrepancies.
