Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking an experienced administrative associate to support ambulatory care operations. The role involves coordinating routine and urgent appointments, procedures, tests, and associated services within the ambulatory setting.

You will verify patient information, assist with financial counseling, interpreter services, and social services, and refer to appropriate teams as needed. Strong communication and multitasking abilities are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of related experience, unless degree awarded.
• Ability to use specialized applications software and computer systems.
• Multifunctional and able to work under stressful situations.
• Excellent communication and human relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Greets visitors and/or patients for scheduled and/or urgent care appointments and procedures.
• Confirms and verifies patient demographic and insurance information.
• May collect co-payments from patients upon arrival.
• Obtains signatures of consent from patient/guardian for treatment authorization and insurance/billing information.
• Assesses patients’ needs, including financial counseling, interpreter services, social services and refers to appropriate person or area.
