Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA is seeking an administrative professional to support ambulatory and patient services operations. This non-exempt role requires strong communication and organizational skills, ability to work in a fast-paced setting, and comfort with medical office software.

Qualifications

• 3 years of related experience, waived if candidate has an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
• Ability to use specialized applications software and computer systems.
• Multifunctional and able to work under stressful situations.
• Excellent communication and human relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors and patients for scheduled and urgent appointments and procedures.
• Verify patient demographic and insurance information.
• May collect co-payments from patients upon arrival.
• Obtain signatures of consent for treatment and insurance/billing information.
• Assess patients’ needs and refer to appropriate services or personnel.
