Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical SME for hyperscale data center programs. You will shape MV/LV distribution, UPS topology, generator paralleling, and arc flash safety while mentoring teams and guiding design-build delivery.

This role blends technical authority with client-facing leadership across a portfolio of mission-critical facilities. Hybrid work environment with travel to project sites; PE licensure and 20+ years of experience required.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited electrical engineering degree required; master's preferred.
• Active Electrical PE licensure in at least one US state; reciprocity possible.
• 20+ years professional electrical engineering experience; 15+ years in data center or critical facilities.
• Proven expertise in MV/LV distribution, UPS topology, generator paralleling, transfer switching, and redundancy for Tier III/IV.
• Proficiency with ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or EasyPower; arc flash analysis per IEEE 1584; load flow studies.
• Familiarity with NEC/NFPA/IEEE standards and related design/analysis codes.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical and Revit MEP; able to manage design-build/contract structures.

Responsibilities

• Lead upfront power systems planning for hyperscale clients and define distribution architecture.
• Oversee full power chain from MV switchgear to UPS, generators, and busways.
• Conduct power systems studies including short-circuit, coordination, arc flash, and load flow.
• Develop electrical standards, master specs, and calculation libraries for data centers.
• Provide governance of electrical deliverables and support commissioning/IST for critical power.
• Present at client workshops and contribute to RFP responses and technical differentiators.
