Job summary

Jacobs seeks an Electrical SME to lead power systems design for hyperscale data center programs, from utility interconnection through IT equipment receptacle. You’ll define MV/LV distribution, UPS topology, generator paralleling, and arc flash safety programs, while mentoring teams and guiding technical governance.

Expect client-facing leadership, standards development, and collaboration with GID partners in a hybrid U.S. work environment.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited electrical engineering program
• PE license required; active licensure in at least one U.S. state
• 20+ years of professional electrical engineering experience; 15+ years in mission-critical data centers or advanced technology facilities
• Proficiency with power analysis tools (ETAP/SKM/EasyPower) and protective device coordination per industry standards
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70/110/72, IEEE 3000-series, NESC, IEC and Uptime Institute Tier criteria

Responsibilities

• Lead upfront power systems planning for hyperscale clients; define MV/LV distribution and redundancy strategies
• Oversee power chain from MV switchgear to UPS, generators, transfer switches, and busways; conduct power system studies
• Develop Jacobs' electrical standards, master specifications, and libraries for data center practice
• Provide governance of electrical deliverables across teams; support commissioning and IST of critical power systems
• Represent Jacobs in industry forums; participate in proposals and client workshops
• Mentor engineers and designers; promote reusable calculation packages and reference designs
