Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a senior electrical engineering leader to shape power infrastructure for hyperscale data center programs. You will drive MV/LV design, UPS topology, generator paralleling, and protection coordination, while mentoring teams and contributing to industry standards.

Role involves client-facing work, strategic pursuits, and governance across design-build delivery. Hybrid office-based with travel, open to multiple US locations.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited electrical engineering degree required.
• Active Electrical PE licensure in at least one US state required.
• 20+ years of professional electrical engineering experience with 15+ years in mission-critical data centers or advanced facilities.
• Expertise in MV/LV distribution design, UPS topology, generator paralleling, and transfer switching.
• Proficiency with ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or EasyPower for short-circuit, coordination, arc flash, and load-flow studies.

Responsibilities

• Lead upfront power systems planning for hyperscale clients including MV/LV distribution and redundancy strategies.
• Manage full power chain from MV switchgear to UPS, generator paralleling, and busways; oversee studies and protection coordination.
• Develop Jacobs' electrical standards, specifications, and reusable calculation libraries for data center practice.
• Provide technical governance across disciplines, review calculations/drawings, and support commissioning and IST of critical power systems.
• Mentor electrical engineers and designers, promote standards, and engage in external industry activities.
