Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical SME to define and lead electrical infrastructure for hyperscale data centers, from utility interconnection through IT receptacles. You will guide MV/LV design, UPS topology, and generator paralleling while mentoring teams and engaging clients.

The role combines technical authority with leadership in design-build delivery, ensuring NEC and IEEE standards compliance and shaping Jacobs' electrical standards for high-density compute environments.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited electrical engineering degree required; master's preferred.
• Active Electrical PE licensure in at least one U.S. state.
• 20+ years of professional electrical engineering; 15+ years focused on mission-critical data center or advanced tech facility design.
• Power systems proficiency in MV/LV distribution, UPS topology, generator paralleling, transfer switching, and redundancy architecture.
• Proficiency with ETAP, SKM PowerTools, EasyPower; arc flash analysis per IEEE 1584, and load flow modeling.

Responsibilities

• Lead upfront power systems planning with hyperscale clients; define MV/LV architecture and redundancy strategies.
• Review calculations, drawings, and submittals for quality and code compliance; support commissioning and IST.
• Present at client workshops and industry forums; contribute to proposals and technical differentiation.
• Mentor electrical engineers and designers; develop reusable calculation packages and reference designs.
