Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical Subject Matter Expert to lead power systems for hyperscale data centers. You will shape MV/LV distribution, UPS topology, generator paralleling, and protection coordination, while guiding other engineers and engaging with clients.

You will mentor team members, contribute to standards, and communicate complex power concepts to owners and project teams in a dynamic, hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• PE license active in at least one U.S. state; licensure required for employment.
• 20+ years of professional electrical engineering experience.
• 15+ years in mission-critical data center or advanced tech facility design.
• Proficiency with MV/LV distribution, UPS topology, generator paralleling, and transfer switching.
• Experience with ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or EasyPower for power studies.

Responsibilities

• Lead upfront power systems planning for hyperscale clients and define MV/LV distribution architectures.
• Drive full power chain from medium-voltage switchgear to UPS, generator paralleling, and busway.
• Provide technical governance across disciplines; review calculations, drawings, and submittals.
• Present at client workshops and industry forums; contribute to RFP responses with technical differentiation.
• Mentor electrical engineers; develop reusable calculation packages and reference designs.
• Support commissioning, IST, and alignment with NEC, NFPA, and IEEE standards.
