Job summary

Jacobs seeks an Electrical SME to lead power systems for hyperscale data centers, from utility interconnection to IT equipment receptacle, including MV/LV distribution, UPS topology, and generator paralleling.

You will mentor teams, govern design deliverables, engage with clients at workshops, and help advance technical standards while balancing schedule, budget, and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from ABET-accredited program; PE license required.
• 20+ years in electrical engineering with data center or mission-critical facilities.
• Proven expertise in MV/LV distribution, UPS, generator plants.
• Proficiency with ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or EasyPower.
• Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, IEEE standards.

Responsibilities

• Define MV/LV distribution architecture with clients.
• Lead power systems studies and coordination.
• Provide technical governance across design teams.
• Represent Jacobs at client workshops and industry forums.
• Mentor electrical engineers and contribute to standards.
