Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Desktop Support Technician / Desktop Engineer to join our team at the Little Sandy Correctional Complex in Sandy Hook, Kentucky. This position is responsible for providing onsite technical support for approximately 275 devices across the facility, ensuring reliable operation of desktop hardware, software, and related technology systems.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on desktop support experience in a Windows environment, strong troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service. This role requires interaction with Department of Corrections staff and may involve working in areas where inmates are present.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktop and laptop computers in a Windows-based environment.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, printer, and peripheral issues.
• Provide onsite technical support to facility staff and end users.
• Perform device repairs, upgrades, and equipment replacements as needed.
• Assist with support and maintenance of:
• Security camera systems
• Servers
• Network switches
• Document incidents, service requests, and resolutions.

Required Qualifications

• 1-2+ years of experience in Desktop Support, Help Desk, Field Support, or a related technical support role.
• Experience installing, troubleshooting, and repairing hardware and software in a Windows environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting servers, network infrastructure, or security camera systems.
• Familiarity with enterprise desktop management and support tools.
• Prior experience supporting government, public sector, or secured environments.
