Eightelevengroup is seeking a Desktop Support Technician for a long-term, on-site contract at the Little Sandy Correctional Complex in Sandy Hook, KY. You will support roughly 275 devices, ensuring reliable Windows-based desktop operation and connectivity with security cameras, servers, and network switches.

The ideal candidate has 1–2+ years in desktop support, solid troubleshooting, and excellent customer service. Prior experience in secured or government environments is a plus.

Qualifications

• 1-2+ years of desktop support or similar experience.
• Experience in Windows desktop hardware/software troubleshooting.
• Ability to provide onsite technical support and document incidents.
• Experience with government/secured environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktop and laptop computers in a Windows-based environment
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, printer, and peripheral issues

• Perform device repairs, upgrades, and equipment replacements as needed

Desktop Support Technician / Desktop Engineer

Little Sandy Correctional Complex, Sandy Hook, KY

On-Site Role

$18 - $20 per hour

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our client is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Desktop Support Technician / Desktop Engineer for a long-term, onsite contract at the Little Sandy Correctional Complex in Sandy Hook, KY. In this role, you will provide hands-on technical support for approximately 275 devices across the facility, ensuring reliable operation of desktop hardware, software, and related technology systems. You will be responsible for installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of desktop and laptop computers in a Windows environment, as well as supporting security camera systems, servers, and network switches. This position requires regular interaction with Department of Corrections staff and may involve working in areas where inmates are present. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, a commitment to excellent customer service, and experience supporting secured or government environments.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktop and laptop computers in a Windows-based environment

WHAT YOU BRING

• 1-2+ years of experience in Desktop Support, Help Desk, Field Support, or a related technical support role
• Experience installing, troubleshooting, and repairing hardware and software in a Windows environment
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to provide onsite technical support to end users and staff
• Experience supporting servers, network infrastructure, or security camera systems (preferred)
• Familiarity with enterprise desktop management and support tools (preferred)
• Prior experience supporting government, public sector, or secured environments (preferred)
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to document incidents, service requests, and resolutions accurately
