Job summary

Dow Inc. in Texas is seeking a Database Service Manager to architect and lead database platform solutions across on-prem, cloud and hybrid environments.

You will partner with IT leadership to deliver highly available, secure and cost-effective database services, including backup, DR and compliance with Dow standards. The role requires strong SQL Server and Oracle expertise, cloud experience (Azure preferred), and collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimize performance and TCO while

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or military experience at US E5 / Canadian PO2, or 8 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in a closely related field.
• U.S. work eligibility required; no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design and implement modern database solutions including backup/recovery, high availability and disaster recovery.
• Collaborate with IT leadership and Enterprise Architecture to maintain database technology roadmaps.
• Partner with Managed Services to ensure timely delivery of database services and adherence to SLAs.
• Ensure changes, incidents and problems are managed per defined processes and SLAs.
• Work with Cloud and On-Prem platforms, developers, networks, and security teams to meet Dow standards and optimize cost/performance.
• Maintain Dow's database inventory and licensing needs; participate in audits as needed.
