Job summary

Dow Inc. is seeking a Database Service Manager to architect and lead database platform solutions in a hybrid environment across Dow locations.

The role requires strong experience with SQL Server, Oracle RDBMS, and cloud platforms, with a focus on backup, high availability, and disaster recovery. You will collaborate with IT leaders to build roadmaps, manage licensing, and coordinate with Cloud and On‑premise teams to deliver cost‑effective, performant solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or military experience at or above U.S. E5 or Canadian equivalent, or 8 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a closely related field.
• U.S. work authorization required; no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Architect and lead database platform solutions for Dow.
• Research, analyze and implement RDBMS and other database technologies for on‑premise, cloud and hybrid environments.
• Collaborate with IT leaders to develop and maintain database technology roadmaps.
• Architect, design and implement backup, HA, DR and routine maintenance activities.
• Partner with Managed Services to deliver solutions and ensure SLA compliance.
• Ensure changes, incidents and problems are handled per SLAs and Dow standards.
• Maintain database inventory and licensing needs; assist audits as needed.
• Leverage AI tools to automate database activities while ensuring security and performance.
