Job summary

Dow Inc. is seeking a Database Service Manager to architect and lead database platform solutions from on-premise to cloud and hybrid environments.

The role requires strong expertise in SQL Server, Oracle and Azure, with collaboration across IT leadership, enterprise architecture and security teams. You will manage backups, high availability, disaster recovery and licensing, while working with Managed Services to guarantee SLA adherence and optimal TCO.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or military experience at or above a U.S. E5 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant or 8 years of experience in lieu of a bachelors degree.
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a closely related field.
A U.S. work authorization is required; no visa sponsorship is available for this position.

Responsibilities

Architect and lead database platform solutions for Dow.
Research, analyze and implement state-of-the-art RDBMS for on-premise, cloud and hybrid environments.
Collaborate to develop and maintain database technologies roadmap.
Architect, design and implement backup, HA, DR and day-to-day activities such as installation, patching, upgrades.
Partner with Database Managed Services to ensure timely and efficient delivery and SLAs.
Ensure licensing and audits are handled as needed.
Collaborate with Cloud and On-premise Platform, Developers, Network, Security teams to meet Dow standards and optimize TCO.
