Responsibilities

  • Review and classify inbound faxed documents to patient records.
  • Upload documents into patient charts and route workflows.
  • Locate and validate patient records; resolve duplicates.
  • Enter and validate demographic, insurance, and billing details across payer categories.
  • Process and validate orders/referrals including ICD-10 coding.
  • Confirm referring provider details and submit provider update requests.
  • Initiate follow-up with referring physicians and patients.
  • Support cross-functional administrative projects and department initiatives.
  • Participate in training, audits, and process improvement activities.
  • Provide backup coverage for related administrative workflows during high-volume periods or absences.

Job description

  • Review and classify inbound faxed documents, including clinical notes, diagnostic reports, insurance authorizations/denials, lab/pathology results, demographic sheets, medical records requests, radiology orders, and legal/workers' compensation/attorney paperwork
  • Upload documents into patient charts, route them to appropriate departments, or initiate follow-up workflows
  • Locate and validate patient records and resolve duplicate accounts/records
  • Enter and validate demographic, insurance, and billing details across payer categories
  • Process and validate orders/referrals, including modality, body part, contrast, laterality, ICD-10 coding, urgency status, and provider comments
  • Confirm referring provider details and submit provider update requests
  • Initiate follow-up with referring physicians and/or patients
  • Support cross-functional administrative projects and department initiatives
  • Participate in training, audits, and process improvement activities
  • Provide backup coverage for related administrative workflows during high-volume periods or absences
Requirements
  • High school diploma, or equivalent
  • One (1) year customer service and/or data entry experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Proficient using computer systems and typing
  • Ability to successfully use a multi-level phone system, receiving a high volume of calls, at one time
  • Medical terminology background (preferred)
  • Two (2) years' customer service and data entry experience (preferred)
  • 21 years or older
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Valid Driver License (4 points or less)
  • Reliable transportation and Auto Insurance
