Job summary

Jobtailor in Minnesota is seeking a friendly Medical Office Front Desk Associate to provide extraordinary customer service to patients in person and by phone, greet patients, verify demographics, and manage documents.

You will coordinate appointments, handle insurance/registration issues, collect payments, support telemedicine, and ensure accurate chart preparation while maintaining patient privacy.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Post-secondary education helpful.
  • One year of work experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
  • Medical terminology helpful.
  • Customer service skills essential.
  • Six months' customer service experience desired.
  • May require BLS for certain locations and/or settings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide extraordinary customer service to patients in person and by phone.
  • Greet patients and verify demographics.
  • Create, scan, and route documents or electronic forms.
  • Explain documents and capture signatures on necessary paperwork.
  • Establish and assign financial responsibility and assist with payment arrangements.
  • Collect co-payments, pre-payments, and account balance payments.
  • Resolve registration errors or denied insurance claims through the registration work queue.
  • Coordinate and schedule appointments with nursing teams and providers.
  • Obtain and coordinate referrals and conduct pre-authorization.
  • Arrange interpreter services.
  • Check patients in and out.
  • Operate a multi-line phone.
  • Resolve work queue issues, manage recalls and waitlists, and serve as a switchboard operator.
  • Prepare and coordinate charts.
  • Organize supporting provider documents.
  • Initiate and collaborate on patient financial assistance.
  • Track patient visits and health information on patient accounts.
  • Coordinate telemedicine appointments.
  • Make appointment reminder calls.
  • Process hospital admissions.
  • Perform office duties such as copying and faxing.
