Job summary

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1 year customer service and/or data entry experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel.
  • Able to use a multi-level phone system handling high call volumes.
  • Medical terminology background preferred.
  • 2 years customer service and data entry experience preferred.
  • 21 years or older.
  • Valid Driver License (4 points or less).
  • Reliable transportation and Auto Insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage inbound documentation through the fax queue.
  • Review and classify inbound faxed documents including clinical notes and reports.
  • Upload documents into patient charts and route to appropriate departments.
  • Initiate follow-up workflows as required.
  • Locate and validate patient records and resolve duplicates.
  • Enter and validate demographic, insurance and billing details.
  • Process and validate orders/referrals for completeness and accuracy.
  • Confirm referring provider details and submit provider update requests.
  • Initiate follow-up with referring physicians and/or patients.
  • Provide backup coverage for related administrative workflows during high-volume periods.
  • Participate in training, audits, and process improvement activities.
  • Support cross-functional administrative projects and department initiatives.

Job description

  • Manage inbound documentation through the fax queue
  • Review and classify inbound faxed documents, including clinical notes, diagnostic reports, insurance authorizations/denials, lab/pathology results, demographic sheets, medical records requests, radiology orders, and legal/workers' compensation/attorney paperwork
  • Upload documents into patient charts and route them to appropriate departments
  • Initiate follow-up workflows as required
  • Locate and validate patient records and resolve duplicate accounts/records
  • Enter and validate demographic information and insurance and billing details across all payer categories
  • Process and validate orders/referrals for completeness and accuracy
  • Confirm referring provider details and submit provider update requests
  • Initiate follow-up with referring physicians and/or patients
  • Support cross-functional administrative projects and department initiatives
  • Participate in training, audits, and process improvement activities
  • Provide backup coverage for related administrative workflows during high-volume periods or team member absences
Requirements
  • High school diploma, or equivalent
  • One (1) year customer service and/or data entry experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Proficient using computer systems and typing
  • Ability to successfully use a multi-level phone system, receiving a high volume of calls, at one time
  • Medical terminology background preferred
  • Two (2) years' customer service and data entry experience preferred
  • 21 years or older
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Valid Driver License (4 points or less)
  • Reliable transportation and Auto Insurance
