- Manage inbound documentation through the fax queue
- Review and classify inbound faxed documents, including clinical notes, diagnostic reports, insurance authorizations/denials, lab/pathology results, demographic sheets, medical records requests, radiology orders, and legal/workers' compensation/attorney paperwork
- Upload documents into patient charts and route them to appropriate departments
- Initiate follow-up workflows as required
- Locate and validate patient records and resolve duplicate accounts/records
- Enter and validate demographic information and insurance and billing details across all payer categories
- Process and validate orders/referrals for completeness and accuracy
- Confirm referring provider details and submit provider update requests
- Initiate follow-up with referring physicians and/or patients
- Support cross-functional administrative projects and department initiatives
- Participate in training, audits, and process improvement activities
- Provide backup coverage for related administrative workflows during high-volume periods or team member absences
Requirements
- High school diploma, or equivalent
- One (1) year customer service and/or data entry experience
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, etc.
- Proficient using computer systems and typing
- Ability to successfully use a multi-level phone system, receiving a high volume of calls, at one time
- Medical terminology background preferred
- Two (2) years' customer service and data entry experience preferred
- 21 years or older
- High school diploma/GED
- Valid Driver License (4 points or less)
- Reliable transportation and Auto Insurance
