Job summary

Asset Living is seeking an Assistant Community Manager to oversee daily operations and financial functions of a housing community on site. You will supervise staff, leasing, maintenance, and risk management under the Community Manager, focusing on rent collection and cash flow optimization.

Responsibilities include posting payments, reconciling accounts, month-end closes, and ensuring compliance with policies, fair housing, and OSHA standards while driving resident satisfaction and retention.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred or two years experience in the housing industry; or one to two years related experience.
• Ability to understand and perform all onsite software functions; basic computer skills required.
• Must have basic knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and OSHA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations and financial functions of the housing community under the Community Manager.
• Manage delinquency and rent collection to optimize cash flow.
• Supervise staff, leasing, maintenance, administration and risk management on site.
• Post payments, reconcile receipts and monitor accounts receivable.
• Prepare late notices, contact residents/guarantors, and file evictions when needed.
• Ensure budgeting, revenues, expenses, and NOI targets are met.
• Post charges, bill back utilities where applicable, and conduct month-end closings.
• Maintain accurate records, audit resident files, and drive resident retention.
• Conduct unit walks, post move-out charges and refunds, and ensure compliance with policies.
• Provide training and development for onsite staff and ensure service levels.
• Implement marketing plans and strategies; handle resident complaints and requests.
• Show, lease, and move in prospective residents; maintain a high standard of customer service.
• Ensure compliance with fair housing, safety, and company procedures.
