Job summary

McCarter & English, LLP seeks a Client Reporting Specialist who can be based in any office location. The role focuses on ensuring outside counsel guideline billing compliance and developing, maintaining, and distributing reports and dashboards for client teams across practice areas.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of quantitative, analytical experience and familiarity with legal dispute lifecycles or complex litigation workflows.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one full-time year of quantitative, analytical professional experience or equivalent part-time/internship.
• Fluency in legal dispute lifecycles or exposure to litigation deliverables a plus.
• Associate degree or equivalent years of relevant experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with focus on Excel, Outlook and Word.
• Highly organized with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to challenge assumptions and propose bold solutions.

Responsibilities

• Liaise between the firm and clients to ensure adherence to outside counsel guidelines, focusing on financial and staffing reports and coordination with firm professionals.
• Review time and cost entries for client requirements prior to invoicing and coordinate with legal project managers, timekeepers, billing partners, and colleagues to maintain compliance and efficiency.
• Collaborate with client teams to support engagement management by gathering data, maintaining data integrity, and providing reports and insights to clients and firm management.
• Support implementation, use, and development of reports and insight tools to enable data-based decision-making for clients.
• Partner with clients, vendors, and firm colleagues to develop report methodologies and tools.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement through strong teamwork and a commitment to quality, innovation, and follow-through.
