Job summary

Blackwell HR is a woman-founded HR consulting group based in Wilmington, Delaware, serving clients across the United States. The role supports 6‑8 clients with exposure to various industries and HR challenges while working alongside experienced HR professionals.

You will own your work—from payroll and benefits administration to HR documentation and employee relations—while growing client-facing skills and HR knowledge in a fully remote, flexible environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of HR experience in generalist, operations, or client-facing role.
• Experience supporting a small business, nonprofit, startup, or lean HR team is a plus.
• Knowledge of core HR functions: payroll, benefits admin, onboarding, recruiting, and employee relations.
• Hands-on payroll processing and HRIS systems experience.
• Experience with platforms such as ADP, Paycom, Paylocity, Workday, Gusto, Rippling or similar.
• Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and follow-through.
• Clear written and verbal communication with employees, managers, and leaders.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills for multi-client work.

Responsibilities

• Support client relationships as a point of contact and collaborate with HR Principals on complex matters.
• Process payroll for assigned clients, including multi-state employees and contractors, with necessary reporting.
• Administer benefits enrollment and changes, troubleshoot issues, and respond to questions.
• Create and maintain employee communications, policies, and HR documents for each client.
• Assist with employee relations and HR projects as needed by clients.
• Support HR initiatives such as recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and engagement.
• Maintain HR systems and records, ensuring data accuracy and up-to-date documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve recurring processes and help implement better workflows.
