Job summary

Blackwell HR is a woman-founded HR consulting group based in Wilmington, DE, offering remote-friendly, full-time W-2 roles across the US. You will support 6–8 clients with payroll, benefits, and HR documentation while expanding client-facing skills and HR knowledge.

You will work with experienced HR professionals to process multi-state payroll, administer benefits, and maintain accurate HR records, all in a remote-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years HR experience in generalist, operations, or client-facing role.
• Experience supporting a small business, nonprofit, startup, or lean HR team is a plus.
• Working knowledge of payroll, benefits administration, onboarding, recruiting, and employee relations.
• Hands-on payroll processing with HRIS systems (ADP, Paycom, Paylocity, Workday, Gusto, Rippling or similar).
• Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Comfort working independently in a remote environment.
• A bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support client relationships: Serve as a point of contact for routine HR questions and partner with HR Principals.
• Process payroll: Manage payroll processing for assigned clients, including multi-state employees and 1099 contractors.
• Administer benefits: Coordinate benefits enrollment and ongoing administration.
• Document HR communications: Create and maintain employee communications and policies.
• Support employee relations: Help clients navigate routine questions and workplace matters.
• Assist with projects: Support recruiting, onboarding, performance management and engagement.
