Job summary

Lids Sports Group operates campus stores like The COOP serving Harvard and MIT communities in Cambridge, MA. This role supports the Campus Store Manager to lead daily operations, deliver strong sales, service, and merchandising outcomes, and serve as Manager-on-Duty when needed.

Candidates should have 3+ years in retail with supervisory experience, strong customer service, and the ability to work evenings, weekends, and peak campus periods.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of retail experience preferred; at least 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience in collegiate, bookstore, specialty, or multi-category retail preferred.
• Strong customer service, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and lead the store in the Store Manager’s absence.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak academic periods.

Responsibilities

• Act as Manager-on-Duty and provide direction, coaching, and issue resolution when the Store Manager is unavailable.
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, scheduling, training, performance follow-up, and employee engagement.
• Assign daily work and ensure priorities are completed accurately and on time.
• Maintain a visible floor presence and provide informed service across the store’s product and service offerings.
• Help the team serve the distinct needs of the Harvard or MIT campus community connected to the assigned store.
• Support The COOP membership experience and school- or store-specific programs, discounts, tenders, and events.
• Support sales goals, labor management, cash controls, inventory accuracy, store technology, safety, and loss prevention.
• Own assigned departments or functions, including replenishment, merchandising, receiving, trade books, visual execution, or operations.
• Assist with peak-period planning for orientation, commencement, reunions, campus events, and seasonal demand.
